How To Decorate with Very Peri Canvas Art

"That's really what it is. We're exploring our path forward in the metaverse."
-Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute

Anyone who follows the home decor and fashion scenes will be familiar with Pantone's Color of the Year.

What is Pantone's Color of the Year about?

For those not in the know: Pantone chooses a shade (or shades) that their team of color specialists believe best represents the color trends in art, fashion, travel, and society.

This is a 22 year-long tradition, and today companies look toward the color conglomerate to predict the colors that will dominate the year's fashion and home decor scenes.

What is the Pantone Color of the Year 2022?

In an unprecedented move since the tradition first began in 2000, Pantone created a brand new color rather than choose from their massive catalog of pre-established shades.

The VP of the Pantone Color Institute, Laurie Pressman, said her team had a clear idea of what the color should look like. The experts at Pantone wanted a color that reflected our shifting world and felt that the best way to encapsulate that was to "transform [their] own process, but make sure the color ... was reflective of this unique cultural moment." The color they came up with is equally tantalizing and electrifying.

Pantone 17-3938 Very Peri follows in a long line of purply-blue hues from Pantone but is unlike any other color of the year. Pantone describes the hue as a "dynamic periwinkle blue hue with a vivifying violet-red undertone," to which Pressman adds that the shade is "the happiest and warmest of blues."

How can I incorporate Very Peri into my home decor?

Easy: Incorporate new oversize canvas art prints into your space.

We have one easy way of bringing the Pantone hue into your home: through bold artwork.

Canvas art prints remain the quickest and most eye-catching way to completely transform your home. Art allows you to make a bold statement, and we can't think of anything more refreshing than a large canvas print featuring this new shade.

Here are some examples of how you can incorporate Very Peri into your home without rearranging your decor.

The Sun Room

Decorating your sunroom or indoor patio is all about enhancing the innate beauty of the space. Creating an environment conducive to highlighting your artwork is essential in areas where lighting is bright and luminous.

The last thing you want is for the sun to outshine the beautiful work of art you've spent so much time and care to select.

Instead, allow the colors in your art to envelope the room and take center stage in your decor. Focus on creating a "blank slate" for your art to make an impact and let your art shine.

Incorporate this vibrant periwinkle into your decor by welcoming Very Peri into your room. One easy way to do this is by choosing a canvas print that prominently features the color.

We like the idea of creating an accent wall and positioning the artwork opposite it, bringing the color full-circle in the space.

Living Room

Your living room is the heart of your home.

How your living room is decorated sets the tone for your home, acting as a preview for the rooms further inside.

To introduce Very Peri into this space, create a purposeful and organized style with layers of accessories and art with a common color theme, pulling the color of the artwork into the whole room.

Outside

You love the color inside; why not bring it outside? Cultures from around the world have adorned their homes in an array of vibrant hues, just like the Pantone’s color of the year!

If you aren’t keen on such a big step, why not take cues from the outdoors?

Pieces like this one by Synthia SAINT JAMES invoke a sense of homely comfort, all the while displaying your brand new work of art.

One thing is for certain, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for Very Peri! If we’ve inspired you to welcome this vivifying shade into your home, check out our curated collection of canvas prints in the same color family.
